Morrell International History
Al Morrell Development (AMD), a Utah corporation and its sister company, The Event Source (TES), a Utah company, were established by founders Phil Morrell and Paul Morrell to support United States military operations throughout the world. AMD and TES were the primary military contractors during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Utah. During the Olympics, the Company provisioned all of the life support areas (LSA) including barracks, laundries, shower & latrine units, recreation facilities and supported the dining facilities for thousands of military, private security, and transportation personnel. These strategic operative bases and facilities were completed in just 34 days, exactly as required by the contracting military office.
During Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) AMD and TES has fulfilled eight (8) contracts to construct and operate Dining Facilities (DFAC). They were located at Baghdad International Airport (BIAP) and in Northern Iraq including Mosul Palace, Mosul Airfield, Tal Afar, and Q-West. We also had direct contingency contracts with the DoD for dining facilities at forward operating base (FOB) Duke and FOB Hotel in An Najaf. At the peak we were providing approximately 3 Million plus meals per month to United States military troops during OIF I and II.
The company also has fulfilled several building renovation and construction contracts including AAFES (the military super store) at Victory Camp, West and East Side AAFES at LSA Anaconda, as well as several other military buildings and warehouse at LSA Anaconda. The company also operates a large scale Crushed Limestone Facility at Al Asad Airbase that supports and services several US Military bases and camps in the An Bar Provence. The company, as a subcontractor to Oasis International Waters, Inc., has recently completed construction of six (6) water bottling and purification factories on the US Military bases within Iraq in support of OIF troops and its contractors. These plants are located at Victory Camp, LSA Anaconda, Al Asad Airbase, Speicher, Q-West, and TQ. The company has the capability to deliver over 1,000,000 one liter purified bottles of water each day.
